That's BS. ANWAR would not produce any oil for almost ten years. We have no idea if ANWAR even has that much oil. The only ones who know are those with the secret test drilling results. ANWAR is a extremely sentitive eco-system. Permafrost conditions mean nothing biodegrades and truck tracks for instance will remain visible for decades. The oil business lied-lied-lied about their plans there in terms of environmental damage, and remember ANWAR is w wildlife REFUGE belonging to the public, not the big oil corps and lobbyists. More important, Bushies defeated the McCain-Kerry CAFE standards fuel efficiency bill which is what we really need right now. That would save more oil than could be gotten from the entire state of Alaska every year, but the Bushies defended the gas guzzlers once again. Why? Because they represent the oil business who want us to consume as much as possible at as high a price as possible. Plus they actually like us to go to war in the Middle East. It helps them enormously.
