Hi Maurice - You are measuring GDP contribution by measuring the income recieved by an individual. Frequently an individual is not able to capture most of their value added, and this tends to become more true with higher value created. The value tends to spread through the society and the world.

Intel makes a ton of money, but captures only a sliver of the value they create. Also your local doctor.

Many products manufactured in China (like my laptop) convey much more vlaue to the buyer than the sellers.
