Given that Tillman was killed by "friendly fire", the argument that the real problem is different radios from different countries makes no sense to me.

As for dissing "the latest and greatest upgrade" in body armor - it's not your ass on the line, is it?

And you usually cannot get radios from different countries to talk to each other which was the case with Tillman's unit.

But do you think that considerable blame shouldn't fall upon the company and battalion command for not properly coordinating patrolling activities in their AOR?

As for new body armor, I posted some interesting articles a while back on some of the new technology being explored that will make it even lighter, covering more of the body (arms and possibly legs), and more protective than existing models currently available:
