Chip sales in the first 2 quarters of 2003 were horrible. I'm not the least bit surprised by the figure of 40% yoy growth for April 04. These numbers can be very misleading when taken out of context. No one should expect these types of numbers going forward. 15% yoy growth for 2nd qtr 2005 will be an awesome number and should NOT be compared to the rebound off of the extreme low of 2003.

I think the analysts are getting caught up in the numbers game and they are overly pessimistic about the future 2005 comps vs. 2004. Like the articles from other posters, PEs are shrinking, guidance is improving and most of the companies we follow are still running lean from the downturn. The triple threat of terrorism, oil and interest rates are creating an investment environment of excessive fear, imo.

I echo the views from the other posters who question the PC articles posted today. Last week it was "all praise the rebound in PCs". Today, it's the PC rebound is over. Amazing. I didn't realize everyone went out and upgraded their PCs over the weekend?
