The Bush plan was to obtain over a million barrels a day from Alaska. The liberal Dems like Kerry are preventing it. Kerry would like to say a gigantic Federal tax on gasoline. Yea that would be great to grow the economy...not. All those truckers who vote Dem will scream too.

Yes, and when oil starts becoming more scarce in 20 years then we'll be over the barrel of the Saudis even more, the oil barrel that is. So why even go there? Why not declare independence? It can be done in the next 15 years if we really try. The only thing stopping it has been the oil lobby.
