Luxury home values climbed dramatically in San Diego and other California cities in the first quarter of 2004, according to the Prestige Home Index by First Republic Bank

"We've had tremendous appreciation in the $1 (million) to $2 (million) range," said Bonnie Adams, a Coldwell Banker broker who specializes in property in La Jolla, Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe and the surrounding coastal area.
