The problem with today's announcement is that it is words and not oil. OPEC has been cheating to the max.

Energy is a beautiful issue for the dems. Create the shortage - claim the issue of high prices. But then again - kerry spirit would cover the bad lands with windmills and not create an ounce of pollution.

So obviously stupid or dishonest - take your pick.

This reminds me of the allegations from during the first Reagan election when it was claimed that junior's daddy made a deal with the Iranians to keep the hostages prisoner until after the election so it would hurt Carter.

Now if this was true then the Iranians didn't have to hold the hostages between November and January, when the election was already over. So your story doesn't make complete sense given the hostages were released during the swearing in ceremony. A release in November after the election still would not have helped Carter.
