He has spent almost more of his life living outside the USA than within it's borders> If he was a neocon you would approve of him if he had spent his younger years down in Texas sticking firecrackers up frogs asses and lighting them or being an alcoholic until he was 40. Maybe if Kerry had been a deserter you would approve of him or if he had been arrested for drunken driving or have more multiple arrests fo disorderly conduct. Or maybe you would respect him if he failed at every business he was involved with and had been bailed out by the bin Laden family. Oh I know of one which you would really approve of, Kerry should have sold stock in a company he was involved in using insider knowledge and then not report it to the SEC till way after the time had expired for him to do this. That just takes us up to the early 90's, after that is when junior really went downhill and made things worse for 99% of the people in Texas..
