I am against some, and not all of Bush's policies and against al Qaueda at the same time. Do you understand how this is possible? In fact, I can say that some policies, such as a war in Iraq, have nothing to do with 9/11 (as in "There is no connection between 9/11 and SH" - GWB) and have allocated resources away from the legitimate war on terror. The smallmindedness of saying "Sounds good to me. Why? Do you like al Qaueda?" should be corrected by thoughtful people. It should be called what it is - "childlish thinking". 3. something like 'I've had twins and I've been to war. I'd rather go to war.' said in jan 02. Does that help? Men who haven't been in war should not lead the sons and daughters of others into it. Or, men who have in their own lives avoided war [cheney, bush] should never be in a position to lead others into war. Men who lie and say they've been in war and haven't shouldn't be allowed to walk in the shadow of someone who has. 4. You don't understand what I've quoted. Bush attempts, as does the entire administration, to juxtapose/confuse Iraq and the war on terror. As in "The terrorists and their supporters declared war on the United States, and war is what they got. Some in this chamber, and in our country, did not support the liberation of Iraq" I don't play along, and I'm angry that the Bush administration continues to try and play the American people like fools. 5. < "The President considers this nation to be at war, and, as such, considers any opposition to his policies to be no less than an act of treason". That's a statement of opinion and political position.> It's a statement, which, if the legal system took seriously, would mean that at no point during current military operations could US citizen question his or her governments policies without the legal charge of treason. Are you ok with giving up those rights? Perhaps you'd feel more at home in a situation with collective ideologies and little room for dissent?
