Come on, Sarmad, there is no widespread (emphasize that word, please) "plan to make life intolerable for palestinians, so eventually they will leave." Where are they going to go? A few can go, sure. But not most. The same could be said for Palestineans: surely some Palestineans think they will make the situation in Israel so intolerable with their terrorism that they (the Israelis) will "leave." But those who think this aren't thinking very well. Neither side has anywhere to go. They are stuck with each other, like it or not. No country is going to take in millions of refugees. Even educated ones.

Both sides have their extremists. Both sides have their despairing middle (and, I believe, majorities) who just want this insanity to be over.

After they've turned the place into rubble, What difference will that make?

Pretty much turn it back into what it was in 1967, right?

I don't think the Israelis have any intention of letting palestinians live in peace. Their plan is to make life intolerable for palestinians, so eventually they will leave. If not the old people, then the young ones looking for a better life.

As opposed to the majority Palestinian stance, and especially that of Hamas, wherein THEY HAVE PUBLICLY STATED that they will end their violence until Israel is destroyed?

If you had a neighbor who made those kinds of threats towards you (to kill your family and destroy your house) on a daily basis, would you be inclined to make life life "tolerable" for them, or to try and be amiable?

Sharon has publicly stated that Israel will leave Gaza. He's facing tremendous opposition from Likud on the proposal and it doesn't help when Palestinians act in a manner that directly aids Netanyahu.

The Palestinian "government" (Arafat and Fatah) have had inumerable opportunities to have their own state over the past decade. But they insisted on waging their intifada because its better (on their part) to keep the Palestinian people in turmoil and conflict, than it is to actually have to be responsible for bettering their lives and economic future.

In other words, Arafat has never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

And the violence and threats against Israel coming out of Gaza are only one more example of how the Palestinians don't know how to shut their mouths, cooperate, and finally achieve their national aspirations to become a state.

Have you ever considered, even once, that there actually might be political forces within the Arab world that don't wish to see a Palestinian state?
