John, in order to not believe the report, one would have to assume Ted Sampley, a special forces war hero from Vietnam, is lying, delusional, or unable to determine when someone flashes him the finger.

Michael, this issue is about as trivial as they get. Hardly worth the effort either of us put into typing these responses. If Kerry did it, it's no big deal (makes him a bit more likeable in my view, in fact); if he didn't, Sampley is simply one more campaign type that makes things up as he goes along. It doesn't matter what kind of hero or not he is, he would hardly be the first person involved in political campaigns to make stuff up.

Let's move on. As they say.
