According to the article you cited in post 7274, "Lucent's FTTP technology was deployed in Sacramento, Calif. by bankrupt overbuilder Winfirst."

This is exactly as I was presuming. The equipment I listed was the equipment used (or initially to be used) in the Winfirst deployment. See
lucent.com , towards the bottom.

There was also the Lucent/Springtide 5000 IP switch, later upgraded to the 7000, which Winfirst was slated to use.

I don't recall any product with code name Jaguar, but there was the Polecat and Tiger combination that was part of the Winfirst plan of record, and those were scheduled to go into production in Q4 of 2001. But as you probably know, Winfirst filed for federal Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Q1 2002. If I recall, in mid 2001 the hardware design for the Tiger was not complete yet, and the Polecat--while the design was "complete" at that point--had some operational/functional issues which I won't go in to.

The sequence of events should be of concern to you as an investor acquiring assets that were not truly ready for prime time, at a time when the bubble was bursting and development staff were being spit out left and right. I'm sure the asset package was spit-polished and shined up to appear as a no-brainer, but I would have serious doubts that is the case.

Then again, being the short seller that you are, maybe this is exactly what you are betting on.
