I think the new locations are going to be set up for rotating the troops in for 6 months, and leaving the families in the states. The equipment will be left in place.

Should also be able to close the big hospital in Frankfurt (That may already be scheduled.), lots of schools, the USNAV activity at Bremerhaven, and lots of dependent housing facilities.

This should impact thousands of Germans economically - both directly and indirectly.
