I wonder why it is that Kerry can be made fun of for looking French (as if all French look the same) and for his style of speech (educated New England), but it's wrong to say that Bush doesn't look too bright, mangles the language, and has an accent that grates on the Yankee ear. It bothers me that education, wealth, and articulateness are acceptable for derision. Okay, I'll take the challenge: Kerry will win. Edit: particularly after the Tenet resignation. This op-ed piece sums it up pretty well: nytimes.com

"Actually mark, I don't see what you mean at all." you make my point, because i didn't see what you meant either "For whatever reason, you took it upon yourself to respond to try teach me some kind of lesson." i was definitely illustrating a point but i wasn't trying to teach you anything "I don't need you to try to tell me about Hawking, his accomplishments, or about how looks can be deceiving." okay good, cause when you said he "just looks like he has some kind of deficit of intelligence", and further explained yourself by alluding to the distance between his eyes, or how deep they were set, it sounded an awful lot like you do need someone to help you along in that area "You're trying to defend Bush by attacking me" no need to use the A word, Quahog. just a few weeks ago you said i was your hero. why would i attack the only person on si to say that? "but what I think is that you would be better off by just saying some nice things about Bush and leaving me out of it" i think it's better to include you in, Quahog. you're the guy who said Bush looks stupid because his eyes are too close together. what would i say in response? i think his eyes are fine? take it easy, man. i'm sure you were having fun when you posted about his deficit of intelligence. i'm having fun when i post about yours.
