Sorry to butt in....

Speaking for myself...I'm angry because these two guys are the best we have to run the country?

That's the 64 dollar question. mr mark made a great post on his thread the other day addressing that very issue. We are the problem not the guys running. Why can't the people admit their candidate lost and then support the guy that got the other half of the vote? I mean for the last years its been the press and Democrats after Bush but the Clinton years were certainly not an example of support and harmony either.

We have the American Spirits of the world who are just blind partisans that are filled with hate for anything not of their party. The fat assed Moore's and Rush's. Loud mouthed yahoo's that are getting all of the press. I am hoping that they are a very vocal minority. I am hoping that the majority of us are more middle of the road folks who are supporting the candidate that we feel is going to do the least amount of damage but aren't going to commit suicide if he isn't elected. And we are going to support our next President regardless of who he is. And we aren't going to spend all of our time sniping at the guy if he wasn't our choice. And we are going to tell the AS's of the world to just STFU cause we are tired of listening to their shit.

Because lets be totally honest here. Neither of us is voting for a guy that we truly feel is best thing since sliced bread. We are both voting for the guy we think is going to do the least amount of damage.

"If you know this, and I know this...and in fact probably everybody who has posted on this thread so far knows this, then why are we all so angry at each other?"

I think what you see on msg boards is a very small subset of people for whom it seems to be important enough to post. Thus, if it's that important, their respective opinions, by nature, are going to be more polarized than those of the greater population subset for whom it just doesn't warrant the posting time.

One might argue then, that the truest "middle-of-the-roaders" are the lurkers. In whole, perhaps the larger "we" isn't so angry at each other after all. Just us few fools in the fish bowl.
