And if PRC does invade Taiwan, all but the most cognitive-impaired of US citizens will finally realize the folly of our current war and geopolitical obsession.

No, US will have to get involved. That's why the US aircraft carriers are getting mobilized.

US has invested a lot in Taiwan, much more than meets the eyes. I am talking about hi-tech, military, surveillance, and intelligence. It would be like losing Iceland to the Russians. Taiwan is more than an economic powerhouse.

Behind the scene, Japan is pushing US to defend Taiwan because her sea lanes to SE Asia and the Middle East would be at risk if China controls Taiwan. Japan imports almost all of her oil from these places.

The geopolitical issues involved here are tremendous.
