No country has got out of economic malaise by getting into more debt. Otherwise folks in Argentina would be driving shiny new SUV's, instead of diving into dumpsters.

indeed... but hey, do not despair... as in Argentina, when the break of the inflated places arrives, superb deals will come about... as it happened in Argentina (and still there are some good deals to be had (not nearly as good though)

HOWEVER... be aware that....

Argentina got into trouble because they ALWAYS think they are part of the FIRST WORLD.... problem is... they are NOT.

In the USA case... you yourself mentioned the two super heroes... Easy AL and Helicopter Ben (-roflol)

These guys have MAJOR weaponry to at least... make the dream last for quite a long longer than El Banco Central de la Republica Argentina ever could....

so... while the emperor has no clothes, it is hard to see such when the emperor's treasurer is handing out rose colored glasses to the populi....

just a thought...

you and I are sure in agreement. At least with the dot com bubble, which was certainly a giant pumped up monetary scam in many ways- good JOBS were being created for so many people it had at least one leg to stand on as far as being "real" wealth. A few companies survived and prospered from the dotcom era the most notable being ebay. With this real estate bubble- the entire boom is created by DEBT and easy money! No new companies or genuine economic growth that makes it down to the younger consumers at all! Wages are actually down during this RE bubble period. Sheesh.
