OT...anyone got any ideas for dealing with two mallard ducks which, for some bizarre reason, have decided to call my backyard their home?

I keep running these nice-looking but useless critters out of here, because I don't want them to start inviting all their friends and raising families in my yard. (Ducks make a mess.) They just come back.

For a while, they were hanging out on the edge of my neighbor's pool. Now my yard is their spot. I don't have a pond or a pool. What do these guys want and how can I get rid of them permanently? Mallard ducks aren't the typical suburban wildlife around here, and we've got enough to deal with from groundhogs and rabbits the past few years.
