LOL!...airhorns....my neighbors oughta love that. About as much as they'd approve of blowing up the neighborhood with a howitzer.

Thanks for the suggestion, though. If our old fierce lady dachshund was still alive, she'd hunt down these beasts and attack them. Unfortunately, our current male hot dog would be more scared of the ducks than he is of cicadas.

As for geese, I've seen them flying over the house, honking all the way, and wondered when THEY are going to land in my yard. Geese are a problem all over the DC suburbs--they make a particular mess out of school athletic fields and public parks.

I hear one government agency in Maryland has a border collie who wears a vest that says GEESE PATROL, and whenever his handler lets him out of the car, the geese quickly move across across the road to another government agency's grounds, stay for a couple days, and then come right back.
