"Unfortunately, in the past, whenever I thought Iraq was getting better, it promptly got a lot worse."

Me too! But remember what they say about the broken clock being right occasionally. The hatred is at a peak now but I sense an exhaustion in the mideast. If the egyptians and jordanians actually agree to play a role, the Palestinians can relatively quickly control all of gaza and 87% of the WB. Yes the fence will be the border (more or less) but I sense the Palestinians will take this as the best deal they can get especially if it comes with normalization of relations, US economic aid, a responsive political system, some type of regional free trade zone and some way to redress grievances of both sides. Rose colored glasses you know. Mike
