I don't despise Rachel Corrie's politics, nor do I have any problem with her beliefs, or standing up for her beliefs. Those are all, in the abstract, Good Things.

Standing in front of a bulldozer that has ample time to stop is not stupid. It's brave, but risky, possibly foolhardy, except that the IDF doesn't run over activists who give them time to stop.

If an Israeli activist threw herself in front of a moving Palestinian bulldozer under similar conditions, or a Chinese activist threw herself in front of a moving Chinese tank under similar conditions, my reaction would be the same. Stupid thing to do, very stupid.

In a race between flesh and heavy machinery, tie goes to the heavy machinery.

Yes, the poor innocent helpless Palestinians. We know the drill. They never hurt a fly. Those mean Israelis.

I have no use for groups which pretend to be peaceniks and defenders of the helpless, but really are pro-suicide-bombers, and just pro-Palestinian generally. ISM supports the "armed struggle" (they say so on their website), have helped hide and transport wanted terrorists (that includes suicide bombers pre-kaboom) and generally act as human shields for whatever the Palestinians are doing. You may find this admirable if you wish.
