"Our" media? The media has its own agenda, and has been much more successful at consolidating power for itself and disseminating its own propaganda than any other institution I can think of. We need more competition of ideas and perspectives within the media. It's become largely bound by its own groupthink. With political coverage on t.v., ever stop to consider how little footage is the original source of the news, vs. how much is a news commentator's description of it? Even the Sunday talk shows are largely the media interviewing each other, not the "newsmakers." Why? Because they want the power and influence. And, they've got it.
