Deaths from partial birth abortions, while few in number, are entirely preventable, unlike the flu. I didn't mention that earlier because I didn't want to complicate the public health point. So that particular cause of death would warrant more attention than it's numbers would suggest.

in many/most
cases is inches from a successful, live birth.

It is debatable whether the live birth is necessarily "success."
