Go to Tools/Add-in/uncheck MSN MoneyCentral Stock Quotes
This is how I would stop a add-in from loading in Excel 2000.

I did that, closed Excel, on re-opening, it still loads the MSN tool bar and says "can't read file." I assume I get that message because I haven't loaded the file with the quote query.

So somehow, this add-in must load through a Windows setting. Any ideas. I will keep it nevertheless as I like the ability to get the quotes, but I'd prefer to be able to get rid of this pesky MSN tool bar.

I think that the old web queries will still work in Excel 2002.Could you please check if you have a Queries folder in,Windows/Application Data/Microsoft
If you do I could send you some old web queries that download from PCQuote,MSN,Yahoo and others.
These are not add-ins so they will not load on start up.

I have Windows XP PRO and I see that folder under my user application data file. That would be great.

One more thing Microsoft claims to have sample queries on the Excel 2002 disc you might want to check it.

Good suggestion. I will try to hunt that down and see if I can get it to work. I've been less than successful adding stuff from the CD.
