In the 'good ole days' *news* didn't have someone's name attached.....*opinions* had a name. Somehow, since the 70's, J-schools evidently have pushed for the names on columns, so that the unschooled mistake news for opinion, and vice-versa.

What we can do today is take the adjectives and adverbs out, for starters, and see what the article looks like without them. Then check the adjectives and adverbs as a total, and see which direction they were headed...

if they would push not only fact checking but the strict separation of news and opinion.
