I'd say within five years, though I don't know for sure.

Going from T+5 to T+3 was fairly easy, and moving down to T+1 will take a good measure of physical risk out of the financial system; that's good for everyone, customer and firm alike. On the other hand, the jump from T+1 to T+0 has major implications from an operational standpoint, and as such I'm not even sure that if it could be done easily there would be much interest in doing so.
