They focused on Ohio and job loss due to outsourcing. Bet CBS did not tell you that in the past year Ohio's unemployment rate has dropped from 6.2 to 5.8%?lmi.state.oh.us so far, I've seen nothing in the jobs data to suggest the good paying ones are growing much. Jeepers John, That sounds like you swallowed the propaganda bait...hook, line and sinker. If you want to know what is really going on you are going to have to look beyond CBS News broadcasts. Googling Ohio unemployment statistics, I found this letter from the Governor's Office... "Ohio's nonfarm wage and salary employment rose 4,300 over the month" (April 2004). "Overall in April, most sectors experienced gains. Service providers, at 4,315,200, gained 2,600 jobs. The largest increase, 4,600, occurred in professional and business services. Educational and health services advanced 2,300. Also up were trade, transportation, and utilities (+2,000) and government (+600). Leisure and hospitality dropped 5,000 over the month. Small decreases were noted in financial activities (-900), other services (-800), and information (-200). Employment in goods-producing industries rose 1,700 from March to 1,074,300. Manufacturing was up 1,300, while construction added 400 jobs. There was little change in natural resources and mining." "Rates decreased in 81 of the 88 counties."jfs.ohio.gov I don't know how you define good jobs, but that report from the governor looks pretty darn good to me. It is laughable that Kerry is waging a campaign based on unemployment and a horrible job situation in Ohio. My brother-in-law in Dublin, Ohio says Ohio is booming...and it has been obvious for months. BTW, he is a democrat who is becoming fed up with Kerry's constant barrage of negative comments everyday about everything and everybody. He told me he thought Kerry's personal attacks on the CIA Director immediately after he had resigned were outrageous. uw
