Thanks, I am well and I trust you are too. > Have you enjoyed watching the world go crazy lately? I can't say much about the world, rather, my attention has been taken by the US and its problems. Of course, these problems do affect the world. What I do find interesting is how Mammon, which is the true god of the US, is deserting it and, in the process, is driving the people mad. Everyone in the Western world has always been lead to believe how wonderful the great American capitalist system is and now we can see it at work in all its splendor -- destroying those who created it. Apropos Joe's debt, it is my firm belief that it is only via the acquisition of as much debt as one can get that anyone can "advance" in the US. The more debt one has, the "wealthier" one is --- and consequently the more important. There are rules to the game of success: Nothing ventured, nothing gained. No-one ever achieved anything by not taking a little risk. Do unto others as they would do unto you --- but do it first. Don't get found out (Eleventh Commandment). I'm sure you know the cliches. We have seen them all at work in recent US foreign policy. In fact, borrowing more than one can afford and buying a bigger home than one needs is the mark of a successful American, or anyone in the Western world, for that matter. Too bad if the bank forecloses. That's life! Pick up the pieces and start again -- we have all seen enough movies to know the story off pat. Truth is, it is simply not possible to "do it" the other way -- by saving, by being a decent fellow, by being thrifty. In fact, one can save forever and end up with nothing. It is only by "putting oneself on the line", and the bank too, that one can aspire to the American Dream --- wherever one is.
