They are essentially the NWO. Trillions of dollars are invested around the world in various projects and companies. It's not like these wealthy guys are going to just let the random forces of nature and politics dictate how their investments play out. It is at these Bilderberg meetings that they formulate policy for the NWO. It is at these sort of meetings that they decided to support Saddam Huessein and arm him to the teeth, and then look the other way as he threatened to invade Kuwait. It is at these meetings in which the deadly UN/US sanctions against Iraq were formulated. It is at these meetings where they decided that Saddam had to go and how the oil reserves in Iraq would be divided up amongst competing factions of the wealthy elites. We're witnessing the NWO in action in Italy this weekend.

Re: If they were just ordinary (OK, wealthy and important) people going about their life then such people could be found in any top hotel. Why is Bilderberg special?

Oh, but Bilderberg ain't special! Its agenda is actually pretty transparent and straightforward: to stoke up the Transatlantic trade --period. As Charleymane once put it, Bilderberg is basically the "Transatlantic Chamber of Commerce"... Only very recently did it open its secretive meetings to other, non-US, non-European guests.
