Only the rightwing has an organized propaganda machine. The Democrats first of all are running a moderate centrist campaign and have managed to quiet their disenfranchised left-wing attack dogs almost completely. They are well-behaved and in the kennel, though a few will bark "Nader".

With the rightwing you have such an established, well-funded propaganda machine that it simply cannot unplug itself. It has taken Soviet style propaganda (and Cold War style US propaganda) but to a new level. The strategies of it are more subliminal now, though just as obvious if you study it. For instance the repetitions of various seemingly ridiculous buzz words like "French" or "elite" or "gigolo", no matter how salacious.

Plus when you appoint someone like professional liar Enron Ed Gillespie to head the RNC you send a signal that sneaky lying, cover-ups, outrageous attacks and slander are all OK. Gillespie is now in the cat bird seat in terms of feeding the slick lines and smarmy attacks into the machine. So far at least the rightwing machine has performed in concert with hardly a hiccup. It would make the Kremlin proud.

Military voters are going more and more to Kerry. Just look at General Zinni. He represents a large wave of smart honest vets who are not going to buy Bush's BS again.

There are no polls to show this yet but it is happening. Don't be surprised if Kerry wins a majority of military voters. But if not it will be very close, near 50-50. Also, Kerry has only begun to fight for military voters while Bush has been doing photo ops with them for years.

Just watch what Kerry did at the Citadel with the Cadets. All Bush supporters when he walked in, mostly Kerry supporters when he left.
