Facinating to work out the costs and and areas required.
One modern solar panel produces about 10 watts/ft, or 270 watts per /yd. Which means it is about 10% efficient in the conversion process, with sun tracking- for ? hours/day.

If its 20 degrees and cloudy in Maine with a foot of snow on the roof, its better to consider raising trees to burn.
No initial investment. Needs a better system to reduce pollution tho (haha) .
They are low maintenance, seldom fail or need solar tracking- self cleaning.
