Bush Sr. was no hero in WWII. Did you watch the CNN special about him? The big question was about him bailing out and leaving his plane mates in the plane to perish. He claims he thought they could make it out and didn't have time for a land on the ocean but Bush is clearly very disturbed by what happened. I won't elaborate further but clearly there's a reason Bush Sr. never hyped this.

JFK's war record was hyped with a Hollywood film but in actuality he never fought in combat and got his boat run over by a destroyer.

Both men were brave to be there in the first place but they were not in Kerry's league. Kerry was a combat leader day in day out in constant enemy fire situations. He killed over 20 enemy himself and always charged the enemy instead of retreating. Sounds like myth but it's all perfectly true. The rightwing hate the truth about this because it terrifies them so much. They would love to have Kerry running for the GOP.
