<<I was just watching some clips of Reagan on one of what will be very many tributes. I guess I had forgotten much about Reagan. In watching those clips I was struck by the conspicuous difference between him and Bush. There was a clip with him talked about him "not appealing to our fears" and another where he apologized. They don't make 'em like him any more.>>

Reagan was one of a kind. Bush is too. I believe that Reagan would have done the same as Bush if he was President now. And please don't give me the shit that he would have done the same because he had Alzheimers.

Just so I understand you correctly, you are saying that
there is a "conspicuous difference" between Reagan and
Bush. That much is abundantly clear. You seem to express
that "conspicuous difference" as essentially that Reagan
was known for "not appealing to our fears" and he
apologized & that Bush is nothing like that at all.

Is that how you perceive your perception of the
"conspicuous difference" between Reagan & Bush?

Karen,
Those were my impressions last night as well. This morning Bush confirmed this for me while he bumbled around comparing the liberation of europe with the liberation(sometimes even he calls it occupation) of iraq and his WOT on with Reagan's defeating communism(as if we had already won the WOT). But i still have some hope. There is always Truman to compare him too. Mike
