He was on a tear for the first 100 days and then 'they' shot him. He was much less effective afterward, passing on numerous opportunities to simply crush his opponents in their stupidity. I can just imagine the message that was delivered, "Hey Bud, we said you're moving too far and too fast. We've got more where that came from should you forget who's in charge again." Don't forget that Hinckley lived in former CIA Director GHWB's neighborhood. Just a 'coincidence' I'm sure but how many people remember that little fact. ************************************************************ Politics is supposed to be the second oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first. -Ronald Reagan Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidise it. -Ronald Reagan Above all, we must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today's world do not have. -Ronald Reagan ************************************************************ I won't debate his faults, mistakes or accomplishments. Those just boil down to opinion in any case. I will say that while he was President, he made me feel good about being an American again - something I haven't felt since he left office. He was MY President & the last really honorable man to occupy the White House. He was the Peoples President, elected by an overwhelming majority of voters. Rest in peace, Mister President, and thanks!
