I will praise Reagan for one thing: he seemed to really care for the country. As did Jimmy Carter. Both were ineffectual Presidents. The difference is, Democrats recognize that Carter was ineffective, but Republicans have a blind eye for Reagan because criticizing him is like criticizing Mr. Rogers. Read the reviews of his political accomplishments. A lot of wanted-to-do-this and believed-in-that-but-couldnt-get-it-done. A lot of credit for ending the Cold War, when it was in fact destined to end, and the end was brought about by Gorbachev. Separate what you'd like to have seen from reality. Allows a much clearer view of the world.
