It was and has been possible to opt out of the program but only if something comparable was established. So the principle remains.

Don't forget SSI, which provides income for widows, orphans, and the disabled.

Last year our local paper had one mention of D-Day, in the Snoopy cartoon. Sent them a letter about it and got a call from a vet 60 miles away thanking me for the letter. Today his picture is on the front page as being at Normandy. I hope my letter helped.
