That's half the truth only. Reagan needed Gorby and vice versa. They both deserve equal credit. Gorby risked his life and survived a coup to force the Soviet Union to reform. Both leaders were great and needed each other equally. If Reagan had been up against a hardline communist the Soviet Union might still be in place. Also helping out greatly were the Europeans and Democrats.
