Brian, "The fact is, that as long as the company's prospects are good, there will ALWAYS be buyers of the stock, whether it trades at $10 or $100,000, and whether it has 1 Million shares, or several Billion. I would NEVER do a screen of a company based on number of shares outstanding, as it is really meaningless to what the company is actually worth.

FWIW, I would, and have bought and sold stocks with very
high share quantities outstanding. It requires an assessment of the stock value vs. a potential good return against my purchase price. F is a good example, but I took profits expeditiously when available. My preference
is solid companies with < 500K shares outstanding (I really like them with <100K outstanding) with a
high BETA volatility....not a buy and hold approach, and it
requires some work and strategy to trade effectively. Give me a stock with volatility and consumer demand for their products and the stock!!
