<<<And you are suggesting that the blast of the "controlled" explosion did just that?>>>

The shinny steel was something I noticed when first looking for evidence of a controlled demolition. I didn't pay much attention to it other than the sun reflecting off it made it harder to tell which were explosive charges and which were mirror bright pieces of metal.

I honestly don't know how many times I've noted the remarkable reflective properties of WTC steel without really thinking too much about it. I've also seen that photo a bunch of times without really looking at it. I don't know why it caught my attention on this round, but seeing it side by side with a column that was broken off, the flying pieces are definitely mirror bright.

On second thought, the steel was probably painted to prevent rust, rather than being rusty. For some reason painted steel is usually painted with a rust colored paint. Either way, rust or paint, it's gone from the flying pieces. I don't think that can be explained with the trusses failed and the perimeter columns pealed off like a banana skin theory.

The force of explosives is measures by their velocity in feet per second (meters per second). You can probably find some figures on the Internet, but the idea is something like black powder is relatively slow, where C4 is many times faster. My thought on the shinny steel would be that the shock wave of explosives traveling at many thousands of feet per second would certainly propel the sand in concrete fast enough to strip a piece of steel in nothing flat.

<<<My problem is that controlled demolition seems to be such an occult science and so little is written about it on the net, that I haven't any idea what should have been done to demolish the WTC towers if, in fact, it was decided to do so.>>>

I've run across a few sites run by demolition groupies. There isn't much in the way of technical information though. I've also seen some sites for the professional demolition contractors, but once again, I'd have to agree there isn't a lot of in depth information on the subject, which probably makes sense considering the topic.

<<<I am sure that those in the industry must have a very good idea who was responsible.>>>

An interesting thought, but I'm not sure the practical application would necessarily be limited to commercial contractors. My guess is most military demolition specialists, including those connected to Mossad or CIA, would be familiar with the basics, and Silverman would certainly have had access to the blueprints.

On another note, the mushroom cloud over building 6 is certainly an eye opener.
