I agree with your reasons why institutions will buy AMAT shares. When will they buy? Why have they been selling? Institutional investors hold the key to where any large capitalization stock trades.

When will they buy? Neither you nor I will ever know that right now so why waste energy trying to decipher when? Why have they been selling? Again, why put energy into something which is beyond your grasp?

The key is more buyers than sellers, period. At what point the market likes tech, and this sector in general, I don't know of course. But all I really care about is what company management is doing, both through the good times and the bad. I really do not care what the institutions do, think, whatever.

If we cannot agree on that then you must believe that if the management of Applied Material is visionary enough for your liking then it simply does not matter where the stock trades?

It does matter where the stock is simply for the fact that the market is supposed to be a discounting mechanism.

You sure you aren't married to this stock?

You are free to think whatever you want; thankfully, your opinions will not affect my accounts one cent.
