RtS: another metric that I have used before that provides some insight to market sentiment is whether or not the day's gains stay at the close or not. We've had months now of days with quite handsome paper gains during the day but then the big sell-off at day's end as the traders take what gains they can escape with and leave. If the intraday gains start to stay in large part at the close, then I think the case can be made that we may have real investors starting to move it. Jess.
