Reagan was very popular DESPITE many of his policies. He was the great communicator and worked well with others.
He managed to get even his opponents to like him.

Bush does not and has become the great divider. Even GOP moderates and honest conservatives cannot stand Bush anymore. Why? Because he is a smarmy tool who has lied to us too many times and really has no cohesive plan for anything.

Just think of the huge goodwill we had from the world after 9-11. Even Arafat was willing to do anything to help us. Since then Bush has not only blown all that goodwill but brought us to the lowest point our country's been at since the later Vietnam days. It was all so unnecessary too.

Some people say that there may be enough anti-Bush sentiment to beat him no matter who runs against him (within reason).

Although Reagan had many scandals and many far right people doing naughty things under him, he always gave one the feeling he was a benevolent father figure and his cronies were just bad boys. Bush on the other hand has largely handed over the government to the arch rightwingers under Cheney and Delay and he seems completely incapable or unwilling to control them.

During the 9-11 attacks Bush hardly reacted and just sat their reading stories to kids as if the first attack on the WTC was no big deal. It shows how completely out of touch he is and how little leadership he really has. This year, if you want a straight-talking father figure leader you can trust you have to go with Kerry, although except for Clinton no one has Reagan's charisma. He's a hard act to follow.

This BUsh wants to tell people that he is similar to President Reagan. Well one thing I knew is that Reagan did not think that God destined him to the President of the US so that he can save the world from the scrouge of a global nuclear war.

Mediocrity personified is what I consider Mr. Bush. Hope and self pride is what I say about Mr. Reagan. There is no similarity between the two and even his son vehemently said so on TV the other day.
