Cloning would be changing the cell in the saliva in to something different then what it currently is.
So would mitosis, or the hormones of the womb, or viral combination, or any other chemical the cell encountered.


Hormones by themselves wouldn't do it. As for other changes - yes it is possible to change the epithelial cell in to a human life. After that change is made then it is no longer just an epithelial cell, just as after fertilization the sperm and ova are no longer sperm and ova.
