Radyne sees Q2 below Wall Street
By Carolyn Pritchard, CBS MarketWatch.com

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS.MW) - Radyne ComStream issued a second-quarter forecast late Monday below Wall Street's current expectations.

The communications equipment company said it expects to report earnings of 7 cents to 10 cents a share on sales of $12 million to $14 million.

Two analysts polled by Thomson First Call are forecasting sales of $16 million for the period, and one analyst is looking for a per-share profit of 15 cents.

Phoenix-based Radyne (RADN: news, chart, profile) (RADNW: news, chart, profile) also reaffirmed its full-year forecast, saying it still expects to post earnings between 46 cents and 56 cents a share on sales ranging from $65 million to $75 million.

One analyst expects earnings of 65 cents a share for the year, and two analysts are forecasting revenue of $66 million.

Separately, Radyne said its board had authorized the company to buy back up to $10 million if its common shares.

At current prices, the buyback could include as much as 7 percent of Radyne's outstanding stock, the company said in a statement.

The buyback will be financed with cash on hand.

Shares of Radyne closed Monday at $9, up 13 cents, or 1.5 percent.
