The Green Revolution may not have succeeded had it not been by the Club of Rome Malthusianic claims.

India today has surplus of wheat, sugar and other food stuffs. There are no lack of food, only countries without money to buy the available food. Or politically-induced famine like in Somalia.

In a similar way, the $180 barrel may bootstrap the flip from oil to alternatives.
