The real reason of oil price hikes..it is not the supply it is constraints imposed by the 'greens'..too much regulation stops free flow of oil.

Having spent quite a bit of time in several of the major cities in Pakistan, you know as well as I do, that the magnitude of pollution is overwhelming. So, you should be the last person to offer advice on US environmental policies given the abysmal record of Pakistan in dealing with pollution.

I feel that the environmental movement in the US goes overboard at times but I will take that, any day, over the mess that has been allowed to occur in your country.

Excerpts from a couple of reports on the problems with pollution in Pakistan:

"The level of air pollution in Pakistan's two largest cities, Karachi and Lahore, is estimated to be 20 times higher than World Health Organization standards, and continuing to rise. Islamabad, the capital, is perpetually smothered by a thick cloud of smog that hides views of the Margalla Hills that tower over the city's tree-lined streets.

Air pollution level in the country's most populated cities is stated to be the highest as compared to the level recorded in other parts of the world. This level continuous to rise, posing serious health hazards. The level of suspended particles is notably higher than the safety standards set by World Health Organisation (WHO).
According to the Economic Survey for the year 2002-2003, the level of smoke and dust particles in the atmosphere of cities in Pakistan is five times higher than the average level recorded in industrialised countries and in Latin America."
