Kerry is a very strong closer, horse race or otherwise. People are now taking a hard look at Bush with all the things coming out starting with Paul O'Neill, Dick Clarke etc. Once they make up their minds on Bush then they will look at Kerry. And at time, I am sure Kerry will be ready to deliver when they are in a mood to listen to him. His positive message has had a positive impact to his ratings and similarly all of Bush's negative ads has had a negative impact on Bush's ratings keeping him in the close vicinity of his challenger instead of being significantly ahead as is the case with an incumbent.
