MC I respect your opinion; but what we have is traders following idexes of individual stocks who have been sliced and diced into sub groups so that the Index itself no longer reflects a prevailing trend.

Mr Market has done a fine job developing alternatives to stock investing, the volume of Index trading, proxie trading (ETF's)and arbitrage hedging has created an arena where the obfuscation of the actual stocks values are isolated to groups of timelines. A well diversified portfolio bought across a six month or more time line clearly demonstrates this phenomena....perhaps this is exactly what they were and are shooting for....

The Prevailing fact of the market is that Supply has shrunk near 40% since 1996. This tells me that the functions of interest in the market have become confused....Scarcity is a prevailing metric within Supply and demand. If some % of the players loose interest in this fact, then the actions of the tape become artifacts of a control units opportunity....lest one believes that this has become the only game, think again.

The values of the market are tied at the root to the productivity, innovation and earnings power of the constituent companies. The system has gotten a lot of capital to take their eye off the ball allowing the the sleight of hand....to seemingly prevail....
