I did read your post and with a smile. And a big thank you for pointing out the spelling errors. I rarely take others to task for grammar or spelling unless I am working with a student who need to learn. But sometimes, I come across such profound intellectual arrogance that I actually seek opportunities to puncture the windbag and let some of the air out. It rarely works, and as you say, it does attract the attention of the language god of revenge. And so, we who practice being the grand inquisitors of language and its proper use need to remember that we can be burned at the stake ourselves. And it is the stake that we stoked.
