Well, the answer, I think, is whether you feel more comfortable in accepting that ultimately the universe created itself, or God created Himself/Herself/Themself/Itself. Both are equally absurd.

I feel more comfortable with the God concept because the Universe is extremely complicated and orderly, and that appears to have been so from the very beginning.

I concede that it does beg the question, but that's true either way.
